About the role…
This individual will work with the Diversity and Inclusion Forum to drive and deliver the diversity and inclusion strategy across the organisation.
This is a standalone role that will require someone who is adept at delivering a D&I strategy to senior leaders of the business whilst also having a willingness to roll their sleeves up and get stuff delivered. This a very well-known business that will look great on the CV.
What will be keeping you busy?
Main duties and responsibilities:
Strategy & Project Delivery
- Proactively drive and deliver the Diversity and Inclusion strategy and champion initiatives across the organisation
- Sitting on collaborative project teams for company-wide initiatives as the D&I expert.
- Lead on the planning and delivery of programme of D&I focused events across the organisation including Diversity and Inclusion week
- To evolve the culture and inclusion mandatory training initiatives and help embed across the business by collaborating with Exco leads and senior leadership teams to drive attendance.
- Ensure alignment to the gender and ethnicity pay gap action plan, as well as the organisational values and three year strategy
- Collaborate with executive committee leads and senior leadership teams to design and plan department led D&I initiatives
- Partner with Internal Communications to deliver engaging and consistent communications on Diversity and Inclusion activities, both internally and externally
- Collaborate with the People Team to source, promote and extend our diverse sourcing providers
- Design and implement inclusive work practices and policies
- Collaborate and partner with the learning and development on the design and implementation of professional growth and development initiatives to support equitable development of underrepresented employees
- Working in partnership with colleagues particular the Senior Executive for Diversity and Development
- Work with the People Leadership team to understand key issues within the business and develop informed solutions
Advisory
- Act as an ambassador for the D&I agenda
- To be a recognised expert who will make recommendations and proactively identify opportunities to support D&I agenda
- Act as the project leader for all D&I forum (and subgroup) meetings and activities
- Build and maintain a network of diversity influencers (externally and internally) that will support our D&I Strategy
- Act as an advisor to the business assisting in driving forward the D&I agenda, best practices and latest updates within the industry.
- Establish relationships with influential external diversity and inclusion groups
- Attend industry diversity events to learn best practice and build solid networks
- Represent the company externally at key D&I meetings and events, building a strong public network and presence in the D&I community
- Management of D&I budget
- Monitor key dates in the calendar such as Mental Health Week, International Women's Day & Pride and work proactively to help delivery
- Take meeting minutes, organise agendas and meeting materials, and ensure actions are followed through and deadlines are met on time
- Take a hands on approach to administration such as room bookings, managing diaries, creation of presentation decks as required
- Support on other employee engagement initiatives as required
- Knowledge & Experience
- 4+ years’ experience leading diversity and inclusion programmes, including building and launching initiatives from the ground-up
- Proven track record of achievements in leading D&I programmes
- Proven experience working with multiple stakeholders across range of diversity areas– race, gender, age, disability etc
- A confident subject matter expert in all things D&I
- Able to confront issues and challenging conversations with empathy and understanding
- Able to build valuable relationships, with an aptness to consult, influence and drive change
- Able to work passionately as an advocate and an ally across all D&I matters
- Adept at working with data to inform strategy and decision making
